Cardinal Newman’s football team secured a 43-10 victory against Melbourne Central Catholic on Friday night, remaining undefeated with a 7-0 record. Senior running back Jaylin Brown led the Crusaders with 148 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The team celebrated Homecoming and Senior Night with a strong performance.

Head coach Jack Daniels praised his senior players for their leadership and talent, highlighting the bond within the team. Brown, a Louisville commit, expressed his gratitude for the support he received as a Crusader and acknowledged the areas where the team could improve.

Other standout performances included Xanai Scott, who scored a touchdown and added a punt return for a score, and Max Redmon, who caught a touchdown pass and made an interception on defense. The team displayed a dominant performance, with Brown’s 22-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter sealing the victory.

Despite the win, Cardinal Newman acknowledged areas for improvement, including missed opportunities in the red zone and defensive lapses. Coach Daniels emphasized the need to clean up mistakes and continue to strive for improvement as the team progresses through the season.
