FBI Arrests Individual for Alleged Plot to Attack New York Stock Exchange

Florida Man Arrested for Alleged Plot to Bomb New York Stock Exchange

A 30-year-old man from Coral Springs, Florida, has been arrested following a chilling attempt to “reboot” the U.S. government by bombing the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Harun Abdul-Malik Yener is charged with attempting to use an explosive device to damage a building used in interstate commerce, according to the FBI.

The investigation into Yener began in February when officials received a tip about him storing bomb-making schematics. FBI agents discovered sketches, timers, and electronic components in a storage unit, alongside Yener’s extensive online searches related to explosives since 2017.

Yener expressed to undercover agents his intention to detonate a bomb the week before Thanksgiving, identifying the NYSE as a prime target for its potential to shock the public. He reportedly stated, “The Stock Exchange, we want to hit that, because it will wake people up.”

Court documents depict Yener as “unhoused” and ominously describe his plans to cause mass casualties, equating the act to “a small nuke going off.” In recent weeks, he had modified two-way radios to serve as remote triggers for explosives and planned to wear a disguise during the attack.

In addition to threatening behavior related to previous employment, Yener attempted to align with far-right groups, including the Boogaloo Bois and Proud Boys, but was rejected due to his comments about pursuing martyrdom.

Yener made his first court appearance on Wednesday and will remain in custody as his case unfolds. His social media presence included videos detailing bomb and firework construction from everyday items. The case has raised significant concern regarding domestic extremism and potential threats to public safety.
