Life Time Fitness Expands to West Boca with New Location in Uptown Boca
West Boca Raton, FL – The Life Time fitness chain is set to open a new location in Uptown Boca, marking a significant addition to the retail destination. Slated for completion by 2025, this facility will be a self-described "athletic country club," featuring an impressive fitness floor, small group training areas, various group fitness studios, and a co-ed wet suite that includes a cold plunge, sauna, and steam room, along with a cafe.
Life Time is already well-established in Florida, with locations in Boca Raton, Palm Beach Gardens, Coral Gables, and Miami among nearly 200 sites across the U.S. and Canada. Parham Javaheri, Life Time’s executive vice president, emphasized the company’s focus on growth, stating that their South Florida establishments are performing exceptionally well, prompting the need for expansion.
Located south of Glades Road and east of U.S. 441, the new Life Time facility will occupy part of a space originally designated for a 53,000-square-foot upscale movie theater. The COVID-19 pandemic impacted the project, leading the developers to seek alternative uses for the space. In addition to Life Time, a Homesense store will also be built within the same area.
Brian Schmier, CEO of Schmier Property Group, expressed pride in attracting "best-in-class operators" to Uptown Boca, highlighting the mix of national, regional, and local businesses that adds to the center’s appeal. Life Time will stand as one of the largest tenants in the development, alongside REI and upcoming stores like Whole Foods.
As construction continues at Uptown Boca, Schmier remarked that securing Life Time represents a significant achievement for the community, reinforcing the project’s value and the retail landscape in the area.
