Florida Everblades Clinch Overtime Victory Against Kalamazoo Wings

ESTERO, Fla. – In an exhilarating showdown, the Florida Everblades secured a 3-2 overtime victory against the Kalamazoo Wings, thrilling a robust crowd of 5,758 fans at The Swamp. This win puts the Everblades ahead in their three-game series.

The game kicked off with Kalamazoo taking the lead in the first period thanks to Ryan Cox’s rebound shot at 16:26. Despite Florida’s dominance in shots (9-5), they struggled to find the net and ended the first period trailing. The second period remained scoreless, with both teams escalating their physical play; penalties were issued to players on both sides, including Anton Malmsontrom and Kyle Neuber from the Blades.

As the game progressed, Florida’s goaltender Will Cranely was impressive in the net, stopping 13 attempts and keeping the shot count in Florida’s favor at 22-16. The turning point of the game came in the third period. After a shot by Colton Hargrove was disallowed, Carson Gicewicz netted a goal at 5:31 to tie the game. Just 23 seconds later, Lansdell scored again, giving Florida a temporary lead.

However, Kalamazoo responded quickly; Joseph Arntsen scored four minutes later, sending the match into overtime. The overtime period was intense, with both teams exchanging shots in a fast-paced three-on-three format. Finally, Colin Theisen clinched the win for Florida with a decisive one-timer, assisted by Kade Landry.

With this thrilling overtime win, the Everblades will face the Wings again on Saturday, November 23, at 7 p.m., before embarking on a five-game road trip.
