Tyreek Hill’s traffic citations dismissed after incident at Hard Rock venue

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill had his traffic citations from a controversial traffic stop in September dismissed by a Miami-Dade judge due to lack of prosecution. The citations were for careless driving and not wearing a seatbelt, to which Hill had pleaded not guilty. The dismissal came after one of the police officers involved in the stop, Officer Manuel Batista, failed to show up in court.

The traffic stop outside of Hard Rock Stadium drew national attention after body camera footage showed officers aggressively confronting Hill and his teammates. Officer Danny Torres was seen pulling Hill out of the car and handcuffing him while he lay on the road. Torres was subsequently suspended following the incident.

The dismissal of the citations is a relief for Hill, who was facing potential fines and penalties. The outcome of the case highlights the importance of police officers showing up in court to prosecute traffic violations.
