Junior Boucher, a 36-year-old man from Loxahatchee, Florida, is facing a first-degree murder charge for allegedly attacking and killing Brian Hiltebeitel, 65, at a Palm Beach Gardens golf course. The incident occurred after the two men got into an argument and ended with Boucher allegedly beating and drowning Hiltebeitel in a pond on the golf course. Police responded to a call about a man attacking another with a golf club and found Hiltebeitel’s body in the water. Boucher was seen naked and running away from the scene, but was apprehended by police after a brief pursuit.
Hiltebeitel sustained multiple deep lacerations and was pronounced dead at the scene. The attack is being described as random, as there is no known connection between Boucher and the victim. Police Chief Dominick Pape stated that Boucher appeared to have no legitimate reason for being at the golf course, and used the victim’s golf clubs as weapons in the attack.
Boucher has a history of criminal charges, including domestic battery and drug offenses. His family had reported him missing just an hour before the incident. Boucher is currently being held without bond at the Palm Beach County Jail. The investigation into the motive for the attack is ongoing, and authorities are seeking justice for the senseless act of violence that led to Hiltebeitel’s death.
