The compensation for most House members is $174,000 per year, with the House speaker earning $223,500. The Facebook post is an example of “stolen satire,” where parody content is reposted in a way that appears authentic, leading to misinformation. USA TODAY reached out to the Facebook user who shared the post but did not receive a response. Bondi, who was Trump’s pick for U.S. attorney general, has no record of making the statement attributed to her in the post.
