Police say a Florida golfer was fatally beaten with his own clubs in a random attack

Florida Golfer Killed in Random Attack by Man with History of Violence

The peaceful setting of the Sandhill Crane Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida was shattered on Monday afternoon when 65-year-old golfer Brian Hiltebeitel was brutally attacked and killed by 36-year-old Junior Boucher. Boucher, who had been reported missing by his family just an hour earlier, is believed to have launched a random attack on Hiltebeitel, using the golfer’s own clubs to beat and choke him to death.

Witnesses at the scene reported hearing Hiltebeitel yell for help as Boucher attacked him on the first fairway, before chasing him into a pond where the brutal assault continued. Police later found Boucher naked in the woods, having fled the scene after the attack. Boucher, who has a history of violence with previous arrests for domestic battery and drug possession, is now facing charges of first-degree murder and is being held without bond.

Hiltebeitel, a successful businessman who owned an organic snack food company, was pronounced dead at the scene. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, with police stating there is no apparent connection between the victim and his assailant.

The Palm Beach County Public Defender’s Office, representing Boucher, declined to comment on the case. The tragic incident has shocked the local community, with friends and family mourning the loss of a beloved member of their community.
