A Florida man in a Dalmatian onesie led Florida Highway troopers on a wild chase in Pasco County, escaping with one hand cuffed after a traffic stop on January 27. The driver, identified as Dylan Keith Devereaux, refused to pull over and sped off at a high rate of speed, eventually crashing into a tree and fleeing on foot. Troopers tased him to the ground but he managed to get away with one hand cuffed, running towards his residence. When backup arrived, a K9 unit was deployed and led law enforcement to the home where Devereaux’s girlfriend admitted there were drugs inside.
The following day, police returned to the home and arrested Devereaux on charges including reckless driving, fleeing, assault of law enforcement, resisting with violence, and possession of Methamphetamine. The incident highlights the dangers of reckless driving and the challenges law enforcement officers face in apprehending suspects.
