How many incidents have occurred in the US? Find out their locations

In 2025, there have been a total of 87 aviation accidents reported in the U.S., with four major aviation disasters resulting in the deaths of at least 85 people. Despite these incidents, flying on U.S. commercial airlines remains statistically the safest mode of transportation. One recent incident involved a Delta Air Lines regional jet crashing in Toronto, with 18 people injured but thankfully no fatalities. This crash followed a fatal incident outside of Washington D.C. that claimed the lives of 67 people. In total, there have been 13 fatal aircraft accidents in 2025. The Federal Aviation Administration actively reports aviation incidents to keep travelers informed. Despite these tragedies, air travel is still considered the safest form of transportation. A 2024 report from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics showed that transportation incidents claimed 44,546 lives in 2022, with highway motor vehicles accounting for the majority of deaths. There were no deaths from crashes on large commercial airlines in 2023. Overall, experts maintain that flying is still safe, despite the recent disasters. Travelers are advised to stay updated on aviation incidents and statistics to make informed decisions about their mode of transportation.
