Miss Okaloosa County Teen USA titleholder, Kadance Fredericksen, tragically passed away at the age of 18 in a car crash in Florida. The Miss Florida USA organization paid tribute to her, referring to her as a beautiful soul and a light in the world. Fredericksen, a Miss Teen USA pageant queen and promising humanitarian, was involved in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer in Santa Rose County on Feb. 17.
Investigators reported that Fredericksen’s vehicle crossed the center lane for unknown reasons and collided with the tractor-trailer, resulting in her death. The other driver, a 56-year-old male from Milton, suffered minor injuries. Fredericksen, a senior at Baker School, had recently received college acceptances and aspired to become a veterinarian to help animals. She was also recognized for her philanthropic efforts with her program, Kada’s Promise, which provided teddy bears and blankets to children in need.
The Miss Florida USA Instagram account confirmed Fredericksen’s passing and expressed condolences to her family, friends, and the pageant community for the devastating loss. Her pageant coach and her school described her as a compassionate and dedicated individual, with a legacy of making a difference in the lives of others. A GoFundMe has been set up to support her family in continuing Fredericksen’s impactful work through Kada’s Promise. The community mourns the loss of a bright young individual who was known for her kindness, leadership, and her commitment to helping those in need.
