Florida Gators secure commitment from 4-star linebacker Izayia Williams from Tavares

Tavares junior linebacker Izayia Williams, ranked No. 5 in the Sentinel’s 2026 Central Florida Super60, has committed to the Florida Gators. Despite not having an NIL deal in place, negotiations are pending. This marks his fourth commitment in 14 months, previously committing to Louisville, Syracuse, and FSU. Williams had an impressive season with Tavares, leading the team in tackles and tackles for loss. He has quickly risen in the recruiting scene, now with 34 FBS offers and an invitation to the Under Amour All-American Game. Known for his defensive prowess, Williams also showcased his offensive skills with significant contributions on that end. The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder is a versatile athlete, excelling on both sides of the ball. Williams is the second Central Florida player to commit to the Gators’ 2026 recruiting class, joining TFA safety Devin Jackson. The Gators now have three commitments in the class, including Tampa Jesuit quarterback Will Griffin. Fans can follow Chris Hays on X.com @OS_ChrisHays for more updates.
