More than 26,000 Palm Beach County voters cast their ballots in Tuesday’s election, electing and re-electing candidates in five municipalities. In Boynton Beach, Rebecca Shelton won the mayoral race, while in Palm Beach Gardens, Marcie Tinsley retained her seat. Jupiter re-elected Mayor Jim Kuretski and Lake Park saw new commissioners elected. In Lake Worth Beach, Christopher McVoy won, while a runoff is likely in another race. In Lantana, Jesse Rivero defeated Lynn Moorhouse, and in Loxahatchee Groves, Paul Coleman won decisively. Pahokee saw James Scott defeat Clara Murvin. In Riviera Beach, Bruce Guyton and Shirley Lanier won their respective races. In Royal Palm Beach, Jeff Hmara and Sylvia Sharps were leading in their races. In the village of Golf, three charter amendments were approved, and in Highland Beach, a public safety project was approved. These results are preliminary and may shift as mail-in ballots are counted. The election saw shifts in power and new leaders emerging across the county’s municipalities.
