A tragic accident in Florida has resulted in the death of a mother and injuries to her children after their minivan collided with a dump truck. The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 12, when the dump truck attempted to make a left turn and crossed paths with the minivan driven by a 50-year-old woman identified as Crystal Jackson. Unfortunately, Jackson died at the scene of the crash, while her three children, aged 16, 15, and 12, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Jackson, a beloved social studies teacher at Lecanto Middle School, leaves behind a devastated school community. Her eldest daughter, a junior at the school, was in the car at the time of the crash, along with her younger siblings. School officials have encouraged the Panther Nation to come together in support of Jackson’s family and offered guidance to those in need of support.
The driver of the dump truck, a 34-year-old man from Ocala, did not sustain any injuries in the collision. Authorities have not yet indicated if any charges will be filed in connection with the crash. H. Romero LLC was the name on the side of the dump truck involved in the incident. Investigations are ongoing, and both the truck company and FHP have not yet commented on the matter. This tragic event serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the devastating impact of car accidents on families and communities.
