The University of Pennsylvania women’s tennis team suffered a close 5-2 defeat against No. 63 Florida International. The Panthers took the doubles point with wins from Valery Gynina/Dana Baidaulet and Katerina Mandelikova/Anja Draskovic. In singles, Florida International extended their lead with wins from Aleksandra Simeva and Valery Gynina. Despite strong performances from Gavriella Smith and Liza Tkachenko, the Quakers fell short with Esha Velaga and Eileen Wang losing in the third set. The final score was 5-2 in favor of Florida International. Penn will face Temple at home on March 22.
