Crew from NASA and SpaceX Successfully Dock with International Space Station

NASA Astronaut and US Army Colonel Anne C McClain recently shared her excitement as she and her crew looked out the window and saw the space station for the first time. McClain described the ride up the Falcon 9 and orbiting the earth as “absolutely incredible,” acknowledging the teamwork and support of ground control in ensuring their safe journey.

McClain, who was selected as part of the 21st NASA astronaut class in 2013, spent 204 days as a flight engineer during Expeditions 58 and 59. She also completed two spacewalks totaling 13 hours and 8 minutes. Now, McClain is the commander of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-10 mission, where she will conduct research, technology demonstrations, and maintenance activities aboard the microgravity laboratory.

Reflecting on her experiences in space, McClain emphasized the importance of teamwork and the contributions of others in achieving greatness. She expressed gratitude for the ground control team and highlighted the collaborative effort required to make missions like theirs successful.

As McClain and her crew continue their mission aboard the space station, they are dedicated to advancing scientific research, technology development, and maintenance tasks to further our understanding of space and improve life on Earth. With McClain’s leadership and the support of her team, they are well-equipped to make significant contributions to space exploration and discovery.
