A Colorado funeral home owner, Miles Harford, has been ordered to pay $950 million in compensation for mishandling dead bodies, including improperly storing cremated remains and keeping a woman’s body in a hearse for over a year. Harford pleaded guilty to abuse of a corpse and theft charges and faces up to 18 months in prison.
