Cooley Law Tampa Bay campus hosts spring honors convocation – presented by The Florida Bar

Cooley Law School’s Tampa Bay campus recently held its spring honors convocation at the Hilton Garden Inn Tampa North in Temple Terrace, where student achievements were recognized. One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the Leadership Achievement Award to student Amber Burney. This award is given to students who have demonstrated consistent and effective leadership in various capacities throughout their time at Cooley. Burney, a resident of Safety Harbor, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida and has been actively involved in several student organizations at Cooley.

In addition to Burney, Karly Plumb and Colby Weron were awarded the Alumni Association Distinguished Student Award, which recognizes graduating students for their academic accomplishments, professionalism, leadership, extracurricular activities, and post-graduation plans. Plumb served as competition chair for Moot Court, executive manuscript editor of Cooley Law Review, and member of Phi Delta Phi, while Weron held positions such as president of the Student Bar Association and executive managing editor of Cooley Law Review.

The recipients were selected by the Scholarship and Awards Committee of the Cooley Alumni Association and were presented with a diploma frame from the law school. The event was a celebration of the dedication and hard work of these outstanding students at Cooley Law School.
