Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill Sparks Colts to Take Down Video

Colts Apologize to Tyreek Hill after Schedule Release Video Controversy

In an unexpected blunder, the Indianapolis Colts have removed their 2025 schedule release video due to backlash surrounding a segment that references Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. The video, which featured a dolphin swimming alongside a Coast Guard boat with sirens blaring, was interpreted as a jab at Hill’s past legal issues prior to the Dolphins’ 2023 season opener against Jacksonville.

The Colts promptly issued an apology to Hill and acknowledged that the video also exceeded their rights concerning Microsoft, as it employed a Minecraft theme without adequate permission. "We removed our schedule release video because it exceeded our rights with Microsoft and included an insensitive clip involving Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill. We sincerely apologize to Microsoft and Tyreek," stated the team in a public statement.

This incident marks the second time in recent memory that the Dolphins have been the subject of mockery in schedule release videos. The Los Angeles Chargers earlier this year took aim at Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel in their schedule announcement, suggesting he was using a vape pen during a playoff game against Buffalo—comments that McDaniel later addressed.

Despite the controversy, Hill, known for his vibrant presence on social media, has yet to comment on the situation. Meanwhile, the Dolphins issued their own schedule intro video, which featured a narration by Hall of Fame linebacker Zach Thomas, steering clear of the drama surrounding Hill.

The Colts’ misstep serves as a reminder of the thin line between humor and insensitivity in sports communications, prompting a conversation about the impact of social media and public perception in the NFL.
