Scott Stricklin Secures Three-Year Extension as UF Athletic Director
GAINESVILLE — Scott Stricklin, the University of Florida’s athletic director, has agreed to a three-year contract extension, extending his tenure through 2030. This decision solidifies his leadership of the Gators’ high-profile athletic programs, which boast a budget exceeding $200 million.
Since taking the helm in 2016, Stricklin has adeptly navigated the evolving landscape of college sports, adapting to changes like NIL regulations, SEC expansion, and revenue-sharing initiatives for athletes. Under his watch, the Gators have clinched 13 national championships, with at least one title each year, the most recent being the NCAA men’s basketball championship in 2025. The program has also secured 45 conference titles during Stricklin’s tenure.
