Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s spokesperson confirmed that a drone was launched towards his home in Caesarea, Israel, but the Prime Minister was not in the vicinity, and no casualties were reported. The Israeli military said a drone struck the central town of Caesarea and two other drones were intercepted. In response to the escalating conflict, at least nine people were injured in northern Israel by a Hezbollah attack on Haifa and western Galilee. In separate incidents, at least two people were killed in an Israeli strike in Jounieh, north of Beirut, and several civilians were killed and injured in Lebanon by Israeli attacks.
The conflict has intensified with Israel launching new airstrikes in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least 72 Palestinians. This comes after the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, which led to a surge in violence. Tensions have escalated in the region, with world leaders calling for an immediate end to the conflict. Palestinians in the occupied West Bank are facing increased attacks by Israeli settlers during the olive harvest season. The UN has accused Israel of using “war-like” tactics in the West Bank, resulting in civilian casualties.
The situation in Lebanon also remains dire, with Israeli airstrikes killing Lebanese citizens and the Israeli army urging residents of 23 villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate. The conflict has spread across the region, causing widespread destruction and casualties. As the violence continues, international leaders are calling for a ceasefire to bring an end to the suffering of civilians caught in the crossfire.
