Vice Mayor Selena Samios is gaining momentum in her bid to become the next Mayor of Royal Palm Beach, with strong funding and key endorsements from prominent figures. Her campaign recently announced support from Palm Beach County Commissioner Sara Baxter, the Palm Beach County Human Rights Council, Hispanic Vote PBC, and the Professional Firefighter/Paramedics of Palm Beach County, Local 2928.
Samios, a small business owner with a background in the sports and entertainment industry, is emphasizing her commitment to smart growth, public safety, and community engagement. She has raised nearly $28,000 from a diverse group of donors, positioning her as a strong contender against Democratic incumbent Jeff Hmara.
Hmara, who was appointed Mayor after the death of Fred Pinto, has reported $40,000 in campaign funds, but half of that is a refundable self-loan that has not been used. Samios believes her grassroots support makes her the “clear choice” for Mayor, and she is focused on building a campaign that represents the future of Royal Palm Beach.
In addition to endorsements from community leaders and former politicians, Samios is also highlighting her track record in supporting local businesses, improving government transparency, and advocating for seniors and education.
With the election just around the corner on March 11, Samios is facing competition from tech entrepreneur Justin Plaza and three other candidates vying for a Council seat. As the race heats up, all eyes are on Royal Palm Beach to see who will emerge as the village’s next leader.
